I would take the Porsche better than the Corvette 1000+

Quit being so fucking stupid, no one bases what nationality the car is by the engine you fucking dolt.

And no one fucking cares about Japan, it’s only UK Aussies and them. We fucking bombed Japan, that’s how much we care about them.

And no, quit being such a douchebag.

Aha yeah you have a point. Like I said though, I prefer a manual over an auto/sequential but I think, with the technology now available, sequentials have taken the reins with regards to shifting speed. Ferrari are making gearboxes and clutches that can shift in 60 milliseconds and I can’t see anyone shifting that quickly on their own.

Easy Stu….If Da Grump were in his prime he would have something to say about banging gears faster than an auto…

and that would be Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins….some people even called him “Mr 4 speed”

and another thing, Don’t mince my words. I never said anything about the Z06 or ZR1 in particular, only the porsche and the fact that a 1 sided test was made. The only truth to your statement is the 4th gen TA’s do have “Polymer” or as you call it, “plasting” body parts. NONE of which have I had any issues with. I have alot of the same EQ that both cars do, leather, Hi HP V8, A/C heat??? Why not compare?

zr1 is a great muscle car. however if they put 638 hp in a gt2, i think it could take it. corvettes are fast cars cuz theyre real light with a lot of hp. they dont really have the technology of porsche.

Bottom line, without mentioning all the spec differences is that this vid is comparing a Z06 with a car that is priced around the ZR1. You can’t compare apples to oranges and expect it to perform the same as the 911. Put the money difference between the two cars into the hood of the Z06 and it’ll keep up or better the 911. Simple. Oh, and **** the snooty Euros that think their **** doesn’t stink.

z06 usually does the quarter mile in 11.5-11.8… search ranger z06 he gets it as low as 11.2…u hear the difference..much better shifter..and like i said i managed a better 0 to 60 time with my olderz06 that has 100lesshp

It has been track tested and i do believe that it made it around the Nürburgring faster than the GT2. The ZR1 ran a lap at: 7:26.4 and the GT2 ran it at: 7:32.02. Even the might Godzilla, Nissan GT-R, ran it slower than the ZR1, 7:26.70.

Don’t cry about how the Porsche needs a turbo just to keep up with/outrun a good AMERICAN V8. Porsche can make a V8, had a good one in the 928. The 911 has been around for a long time and is a great car, they follow the philosophy, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. The Corvette has been around for 54 years now, it isn’t the fastest but it definitely isn’t the slowest.

Wow, you Porsche and Euro car people need to start watching a quality Car Show instead of this crap. Top Gear is the best I have seen on TV. True they might not like allot of the American cars, but at least they are fair about them. Even Jeremy likes the ZR1 and can drive it properly. Have him drive the ZR1 against the GT2 and we will see a different outcome.

you people are ignorant, a heads, Cam only LS1 runs 10s in the 1/4 mile, and it only cost 15grand for the car, heads and cam lmao you people forget that your euro ways are different than our american ways, we like to haul *** VERY VERY FAST. You ****** like to turn around the country side wondering which tree to get *** fucked under.

Plenty of Porsches on track Bogey12High. So you are aware, I mean a real track, not a drag strip. Look better doing it? In a Trans Am? Now that’s the best comment thus far…if you had a Vette I could see making that comment, but a TA? Come on, let’s be realistic. There is enough plasting on a TA to have a Tupperware party with. If you seriously think a Trans Am has anything for Z06/ZR1 or GT2, then you are on *****. Let’s start the list of defficiencies with the solid rear axle.

he still put the pedal down to the floor, i mean cmon how many different ways can you shift gears. if they are that hard to shift maybe they should look into porsches double clutch gear box that shifts so fast and easy

928, and what did owners buy cars like the GT2 for? To sit in the garage or the shop and look pretty? ALL of my vehicles are DRIVEN to the fullest extent of abilities on my and the vehcles part.

and HELL YES I would compare my Trans Ams to an overpriced crap box anyday. and yes I’m fully aware of boost and what it does. Point is, Y would I buy a car like the GT2 when I can get one, modify it and smoke the thing and look better doing it?

he grinded gears and posted a 0 to 60 time of 4.3 seconds… i own a 2003 z06 it has 100less hp and i can get it to 60 in 4 flat with a few tries and im no pro

Bogey12High…the reason you don’t see cars like the GT2 at the dragstrip is because the owners didn’t purchase the car for that reason. Pontiac Trans Am? Are you serious man? Do you really think there is any comparison between a Trans Am and a GT2? Your 99 LS1 can beat a GT2? Now that’s funny.

You also need to consider that for the same HP output a turbocharged car will have a lot more midrange power than a normally aspirated car. This is what you are seeing here in this video.

i love how whenever a corvette gets beaten in a race on youtube, all the corvette fans start going off about how shitty the driver is. the guy fricken works for the magazine, so id think he would be a pretty good driver. besides how hard is it to put the pedal down and shift gears.

Well its all relative really. Power to weight ratio on the gt2 is a little bit better depending on where you read the specs at. And yeah if you bring your cammed out trans-am it may beat it but its not stock…and leaf springs…seriously. Technology plays a part as well. But, they are still both amazing cars
